Turf & pavers
The Phoenix homeowner favourite: turf where the grass used to die every July, pavers for the patio and the path to it, and somewhere to sit when the evenings finally cool off.
What we build
- Artificial turf
- Pavers, for patios, walkways and driveways
- Patios and seating areas
- Fire pits
- BBQ areas and outdoor kitchens
- Drainage
- Landscape improvements
Most yards are a combination: turf where the grass was, pavers for the patio and the walk out to it, and a fire pit or a BBQ area as the reason to be out there at all.
From our own jobs
Drainage first
Everything here sits on the base underneath it. Turf needs a compacted base that drains, or it holds water and smells by August. Pavers need a graded base that sheds water away from the house, or the first monsoon finds the low spot and the patio settles into it. We grade and plan the drainage before anything goes down, and that's the part of the job you never see in the photos.
Outdoor kitchens
An outdoor kitchen usually means gas, power, and sometimes water run out to the yard. The work itself is done by a contractor licensed for it, under our contract. You deal with one company from the first visit to the final walk.
Questions we get asked
Does artificial turf get too hot?
In full afternoon sun, yes, it can. Placement and shade matter. We'll talk through where it goes before it goes down.
Can you take out the old grass and rock?
Yes. Clearing and grading is the first step of almost every yard we do.
Do you do driveways?
Paver driveways, yes. Ask about the rest when you call.
